Relationship and Sex Therapy
Do you feel disconnected? From yourself? Someone you care for?
You are not alone.
Hi, I’m Kari .
Life can be challenging. Sometimes, it is difficult to show up for ourselves and in our relationships. There is a lot of noise in the world telling us how to be - in our bodies, our relationships, and our sex lives. Once we learn to center our needs over the expectations of others, it is easier to explore who we are and how we want to connect with one another.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert of you. I am here to foster a space of warmth and understanding, free from judgement. I want to be your greatest advocate while you rediscover and fall in love with yourself.
Oh, and I believe humor and play are integral to the healing process. Even in the darkest moments, we can find joy.
You are entitled to mental, relational, and sexual well-being.

Sex therapy is very similar to traditional therapy, though sex therapy requires specialized, post-graduate training and certification.
We will likely discuss cognitive, emotional, and physical concerns that are impacting you, your relationships, and your sexual activities. Sex therapy is entirely talk therapy. There is no touching during sessions. Exercises pertaining to your goals may be assigned to be completed outside of session.
My practice is inclusive and affirming for everyone. Sessions are client-led, and I welcome you to share as much or as little as you are comfortable with. Consent and communication are cornerstones to relationship.

I believe that mental health and emotional healing should be accessible to all. To ensure access for all, I offer a limited number of sliding scale openings. These spots fill up quickly, so please reach out.

Associates in private practice cannot bill the majority of insurance plans per state regulation. Additionally, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis and other personal information not all clients are comfortable having on file in a corporate system.
As an alternative, I do accept payment through HSA/FSA accounts.
If you would like to use insurance, you can choose to submit what is called a “superbill” to your insurance company for reimbursement. I cannot guarantee your insurance company will reimburse you nor can I be held liable for any charges they refuse to reimburse. I highly recommend contacting your insurance company directly to see if you qualify. Please inform me during our first session together if you would like to receive monthly superbills.

I am currently seeing clients virtually through a HIPPA-compliant portal called Simple Practice. I hope to offer in-person sessions once the resources are available. Existing clients will receive priority scheduling.

Part of therapy is making a commitment to yourself and your well-being by regularly attending sessions. However, life can be hectic and sometimes the best therapy is taking time for yourself. Therefore, I offer four “courtesy cancellations” per calendar year. This requires a 48-hour advance notice to avoid being charged for the session. When possible, I will work with you to reschedule your session within the same week in lieu of cancellation. Please keep in mind that availability is limited and rescheduling is not guaranteed.

That’s okay! My goal is to help you find the care that is right for you. There are many qualified sex and relationship therapists in the Pacific Northwest, and I am happy to connect you with them.
Rediscover the joy in your life.
